Disney’s the Hunchback of Notre Dame collaboration brings us together

This October lovers of performance art from around the region will have the opportunity to see something new in Littleton; a partnership between three of its oldest performing ensembles, Town Hall Arts Center, the Littleton Symphony Orchestra, and the Voices West choir.

For nearly two years, the leadership of these institutions have been working on a collaborative concert-style production of Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame. While each organization has been a Littleton staple for more than four decades, never before have all three organizations collaborated to produce a full scale, multi-night production that features the expertise of each ensemble.

The production will feature more than 100 talented participants on stage including a full orchestra, full choir, and a cast of six professional actors making this a spectacular opportunity to audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

Not only will this effort help bring together existing Littleton art lovers, but the uniqueness of the collaboration, familiarity of the title, and a robust marketing and outreach effort will help bring new audiences to see these talented groups for the first (and hopefully not last) time.

Developed under the moniker “Littleton Arts,” the Hunchback of Notre Dame is representative of a notable shift in the arts and culture community since the COVID pandemic; the result of both artists and audiences acknowledging and responding to the evolving appreciation for local arts opportunities. However, such efforts require significant effort and cannot be accomplished alone. With the visionary support of Redstone Bank, a grant from the City of Littleton, and the willingness by all three organizations to take a risk, the Hunchback signifies the strength of community, the benefits of collaboration, and a shared vision for what is possible.

Littleton Art’s production of the Disney’s Hunchback of Notre Dame will take place on Friday, October 18 at 7:30PM and on Saturday and Sunday, October 19 and 20 at 3:00PM.  The show is being staged at the Littleton United Methodist Church (one of the only venues in Littleton large enough to host something on this scale). Tickets are available at www.townhallartscenter.org or by calling the box office at 303-794-2787……. and they are going fast.
